Payment Requirements
In order for the Pulitzer Center to send a payment, we are legally required by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to have a tax document on file for any individual or organization to whom we will send funds, regardless whether the individual is a U.S. citizen or not. Trolley will ask you questions and fill out the appropriate type of tax form for you, even if you are not based in the United States.
Tax information
The Pulitzer Center is only able to send to individuals or organizations with bank accounts that can receive either USD transfers or that have SWIFT or BIC numbers. If you are not sure if your bank qualifies, you can try entering your bank information into Trolley and seeing if Trolley accepts (verifies) that information, or you can contact your bank and ask them.

About Trolley
Trolley is a payment platform that the Pulitzer Center uses to send payments to our grantees, Fellows, and other partners with whom we work around the world. Trolley is able to send wire transfers and direct deposits (ACH, most commonly used within the United States). Trolley can send funds outside of the U.S. in local currencies faster than traditional wire transfers.
Every person or organization receiving a payment from the Pulitzer Center through Trolley can enter their own bank account information, change that information at any time, and receive notifications about the status of their payments.
Step by step directions on how to create your profile in Trolley, add your bank account as a payout method, and answer the questions necessary to generate a tax document.
